QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed an Associate's Degree or have completed a technical school in bookkeeping or accounting procedures. Must possess highly developed computer skills, good time-management skills, and the ability to complete projects with minimal supervision with careful attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This position falls within the Accounts Management Department. The Accounts Management Clerk is responsible for submission of electronic and paper claims to private and government payers, follow-up on submitted claims in accordance with payer and agency policies, document account activity, and the posting of payments and adjustments. Must demonstrate proficiency with the agency's Electronic Health Record and billing systems to ensure all functionality is utilized for the most efficient processing of claims. Compiles amounts owed to the Agency for services rendered and accurately assesses and bills responsible parties for those services in accordance with established business procedures. Processes items in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system including working on failed activities, failed claims, preparation and submission of claims to vendors, correcting errors and posting payments. Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of the job.
