The agency is certified by the Missouri Department of Mental Health, Division of Behavioral Health as a provider of Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment services and accredited through CARF as a provider of Integrated Alcohol and Other Drug and Mental Health services at all of its locations.

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED. Individual must be over the age of 21. Reliable judgment, good observation skills, dependability, and forthright demeanor are required. It requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Certification in CPR/First Aid is required or can be obtained shortly after being hired. Flexibility to perform shift work is essential, as well as the ability to accurately record and communicate diverse information. Familiarity in using computer programs such as Microsoft Office is beneficial. Possession of Level I Medication Aide Certificate or equivalent or willingness to obtain the same through agency approved training. Employees are required to maintain the certifications and/or licenses possessed when hired and those gained while an employee of this Agency. Any lapsed certification or license may be grounds for discipline, removal from a position, or termination of employment.

Must pass background check provided for the agency by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Family Care Safety Registry which includes the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Department of Social Services, Department of Mental Health and Department of Health and Senior Services. Individual must not be on any "do not hire" list with the Department of Mental Health or the Missouri Division of Family Services.

Must be able to respect and maintain confidentiality of all aspects of client treatment. Must be able to successfully complete Agency-approved Medication Room Technician Training, Level 1 Med Aide training or similar Agency-approved and designated trainings. Must be able to successfully complete Crisis Prevention training or similar training Agency-approved and designated training.

Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with co-workers and clients. Must be able to operate a multi-line telephone system, record incoming messages accurately, and place telephone calls as necessary or as directed.

This job classification is covered under the agency's Exposure Control Plan. Employees in this job classification may reasonably anticipate being occupationally exposed to infectious materials.


The Medication Room Technician is responsible for ensuring medication room conditions and supplies and the handling of all client medications is in accordance with all applicable Agency procedures.

This position is responsible for the safety and well-being of clients; and monitors and reports unusual or non-therapeutic client behaviors following established reporting procedures. The Medication Room Technician observes, monitors and records the day-to-day activities of clients in the Medication Room and advises the appropriate clinical or supervisory personnel of any medical or behavior problems noted.

Staff must demonstrate excellence in overall work performance; promote positive morale through a congenial, supportive attitude and by providing service to others; put forth an effort to improve self as well as to develop and recognize others; exhibit initiative, innovation and creativity resulting in improved operating efficiency of their work focus or the agency as a whole; enhance the image of the their department and the agency. Regular and consistent attendance is an essential job function.

Immediately reports to supervisory staff any situation which may indicate an immediate threat to the physical or psychological well-being of clients or staff.
