A degree from an accredited college or university in the field of psychology, sociology, criminal justice, education, counseling or other closely related human, or social service discipline preferred.  Experience providing community based social services from a variety of service delivery systems for a minimum of two years is required.  Currently credentialed as a qualified addiction professional, licensed or, Provisionally Licensed in the state of Missouri.  Current certification in CPR and First Aid is required.  This job classification is covered under the agency's Exposure Control Plan.  Employees in this job classification may reasonably anticipate being occupationally exposed to infectious materials.  Employees are required to maintain the certifications and/or licenses possessed when hired and those gained while an employee of this Agency.  Any lapsed certification or license may be grounds for discipline, removal from a position, or termination of employment.

Must pass background check provided for the agency by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Family Care Safety Registry which includes the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Department of Social Services, Department of Mental Health and Department of Health and Senior Services.  Must not be on any "do not hire" list with the Department of Mental Health or the Missouri Division of Family Services. 


This position should have a familiarity with Evidence Based Practices to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Illness Management and Recovery and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.  In addition it requires working knowledge of the fundamental purpose and practice as espoused by the substance use recovery community support groups/networks.  Regular and consistent attendance is an essential job function.

Clinical staff should understand the admission process, have the ability to professionally document as per the agency's protocol and plan.  It is essential Group Facilitators and MAADCs are observed individually and in group sessions based on Supervision requirements at the Agency.  Knowledge of various nosology of chemical dependency issues.

Provides supervision to Group Facilitators and MAADCs who employ approved treatment modalities according to agency procedures in conjunction with the Clinical Supervisor.

Able to document services appropriately using agency approved formats in an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.  Documenting services that clearly describe the need for the service, the intervention provided, the date, actual time and setting of the service, and the individual's response to the service. 

Conducts performance appraisals according to personnel policy and procedure requirements.
