QUALIFICATIONS: 

Southeast Missouri Behavioral Health gives hiring preference to applicants who achieve National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC).  To receive NCRC, interested applicants must contact a Missouri Career Center.  Experience and knowledge of principles and techniques used in food preparation, handling, and storage is required.  Math and reading skills to modify recipes is essential.  Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 pounds and complete physically demanding preparation and cleanup duties.  Will also need to be on feet for long periods of time in varying temperatures associated with food preparations. 

 Must pass background check provided for the agency by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Family Care Safety Registry which includes the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Department of Social Services, Department of Mental Health and Department of Health and Senior Services.  Must not be on any "do not hire" list with the Department of Mental Health or the Missouri Division of Family Services. 

SUPERVISION:

This position is directly supervised and evaluated by the Food Service Supervisor.  This position has no supervisory requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This person will be required to attend a Food Safety Course within the first six months of employment.  Must be able to read and follow directions on menus.  Must pass the physical requirements for Food Service including a TB test.  Must have knowledge and/or skills in food preparation and storage.  Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this job.  This position may require overtime.
